I unplugged my iPod Classic from my Mac the other day to find that I had lost all 10,000+ songs, plus videos, etc. from it. However, it says that I only have 55.8GB remaining in memory out of 160GB so I'm assuming that all my data is still on there somewhere.
Does anyone know how to get it back?

My guess would be that the database on the iPod is corrupt, so it will show that it has no content, but the media should still be there in the various hidden folders otherwise the usage space would be different.

The problem is that the iTunes and finder information is too old. Also, iTunes only gives me the option to eject or restore my iPod of factory settings so I can't "Enable disk use". I really don't know what I can do, because I'm not that computer literate 😟

The recovery method doesn't rely on iTunes until after the files have been copied off the drive.
What version of OS X do have? Revealing hidden files shouldn't be too different from one version to the next, and the precise method should be searchable.
