So my card got declined. I updated the details but my pre order wasn't downloading. I ended up purchasing it, I only ask this because I don't want to find out I've been charged twice.

If the payment details on your account weren't accepted by iTunes then that card won't have been charged (pre-orders are only charged for on release), when you put your new payment details on only that should have the charge on it.
