Trying To Factory Reset iPod 5th Generation And I Get The Error Message 3259

I've tried 3 or more days to try and complete this task but I keep getting the error 3259 and says that there is something wrong with my internet connect. That it timed out when it didn't. I've re installed iTunes and everything is updated. I'm only doing this so I can be able to send pictures through iMessage. I've talked with an apple employee through the online chat about my iMessage problem and she wanted me to Factory reset my iPod because there was a "bug in the system".

iPod touch, iOS 8.4.1, Brand New

Yeah - that explanation doesn't help. That was why I was asking you what you meant by resetting, and what steps you are following. The only way for us to know what you are doing exactly is for you to describe exactly what navigation path or steps you are taking to accomplish what you are describing as resetting....

And it is likely security software that is causing the issue if the "resetting" that you are doing involves iTunes....

Maybe this:

Update Server

Try:

- Powering off and then back on your router.

- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server

- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

Public DNS — Google Developers

OpenDNS IP Addresses

- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem

- Try on another computer/network

- Wait if it is an Apple problem
