Aug 27, 2015 9:40 PM in response to gail from maineby TheLittleFailure,I've tried backing it up first then resetting it and then i've tried not backing it up and resetting. I just got done talking to another apple support tech and he said that my desktop security software system could be blocking the download so i'm gonna try my laptop and see if it works. Fingers crossed!!!

Aug 27, 2015 9:44 PM in response to TheLittleFailureby gail from maine,Yeah - that explanation doesn't help. That was why I was asking you what you meant by resetting, and what steps you are following. The only way for us to know what you are doing exactly is for you to describe exactly what navigation path or steps you are taking to accomplish what you are describing as resetting....
And it is likely security software that is causing the issue if the "resetting" that you are doing involves iTunes....

Aug 28, 2015 12:58 AM in response to TheLittleFailureby lllaass,Maybe this:
Update Server
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
