About Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter

I have a good Wi-Fi connection in my house. But if I buy a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter the battery life could be notably longer by being connected with an ethernet cable?

Well, Wi-Fi drains the battery more quickly.

And what does Ethernet do? It requires power, too. Furthermore, Ethernet runs faster than Wi-Fi. Measurements have shown that wireless consumes less power than wired.
