iPhone 6 odd behaviour with IOS 8.4.1

Hi,

I've recently been experiencing some odd behaviour and I'm not sure now whether it's my phone or bugs with IOS 8.

It started with Safari being very odd, I'd be unable to search, it wouldn't load, I wouldn't be able to access the multiple pages or close them. It was extremely frustrating and it didn't seem to matter if I was on wi-fi or 4G.

The Safari issues have since resolved, and will hopefully stay that way. But instead of that, it's now issues with the App Store and also accessing certain options within Settings, like iCloud and the iTunes & Apps options.

I've had my iPhone 6 since it came out, and have never once had a problem with it until the last few weeks. When I try to get or buy an app, it just circles and circles until the App Store crashes and returns to the home screen, or I have to press the home button until it finally lets me close it.

I've tried restarting, made no difference. Then I thought it was perhaps not enough space - so I made sure there was, then I reset my network settings to make sure it wasn't a glitch with my network as we've recently upgraded to fibre and so it has a new setting/password. This didn't make a difference.

I was going to log out of my Apple ID and back in again, but as I say, I can't even access that option in settings now.

Is this my iPhone messing up, or is it IOS 8 messing up? The phone is up to date, currently on IOS 8.4.1 - is this now a common problem for people? I'm so frustrated with it, Apple are starting to really annoy me, not long ago it was Apple Music messing around for days. If these is going to be common problems from now on I think a different phone is in order.

App Store appears to be working fine on my MacBook Air, so it's obviously either the phone or the IOS 8.

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201559

If this does not help, restore your device to factory settings. Note that this will erase the data from your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

If these steps don't work, contact Apple and ask for help.
