I have a huge problem in that i loaded iphoto upgrader to transfer from my old Mac to my new macbook pro my 11.000 photos
I cannot access my photos now as it has a box ""you cant open your current library using this version of iphoto"'
and a wheel spinning with the message "oading photos"
can anyone help even just restore my original iphoto please

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

after some searching TD i have found in finder the original Iphoto upgrader
now when i press it it says " YOUR LIBRARY CAN OPEN WITH THE CURRENT VERSION AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE PREPARED WITH THIS TOOL "'
so why cant i find a logo to open it on my mac

1. You don't need the upgrader. Ignore it.
2. I have no idea what you're question about a log prefers to.

ivetried the rebuild but it keeps deferring back to the original message in my first post
as youve guessed TD im not great with tecnical PC stuff ...
but would be most grateful if i could just access my photos , i promise i wont try to do anything else lol

No its a 8 year old machine Mac ive lost access to my photos on ....i bought new mac book pro laptop yesterday and tried to send photos , it said my current iphoto needed upgraded to do so hence this mess i have found myself in
it just wont let me accss the original icon

After accessing the rebuild and ticking appropriate boxes it analyses the library and then cuts off to say i cant access my current on this current version ..."you have made changes to your photo library please quit and use the latest version of iphoto"
