My iphone suddenly is not showing calendar events in the past though I can see it on my Mac. I tried to add it back on the phone, when I entered to save, it goes, but immediately is showing on my Mac calendar twice? How do I fix it?

My Iphone suddenly is not showing past events for example an event on July 24. I could not figure it out. so I added it again, once I entered to save it, it just blanked out as though I never entered anything. I thought I did something, so I enter it again, nothing, but when I look at my mac's calendar, now I have duplicate events. How can I fix it so my phone and mac calendars are the same?

It also losing contact data such as addresses etc. I know for a fact that the address was in there for two contact, now it is not on the Iphone or the mac contact. It is getting that I have began to write things down because I do not know if it will be on my iphone next time I check it! It is a scary feeling>
