macintosh HD missing

I tried to restore my mac to a time machine backup, realised I had selected the wrong backup so i tried again, but this time I'm stuck in osx utilities! I can't restore, I can't find any disks for the destination of my backup. I also tried to just reinstall osx but there's no disks for me to restore it to!!! Help please
