Limits of Guided Access

I recently activated Guided Access to assist me in limiting what applications could run. I did this because I have a mother in law who can not handle technology and needs a mobile phone that is simple to use. So my solution was to install an application called "Unus Tactus". This application allow for picture dialing and is specifically designed for people suffering from Alzheimer's, dementia or who are just not Tech savvy. The only problem I have discovered that is when this application is activated in Guided Access mode it doesn't have the ability to access the dialing application of the phone. Does anyone know of a work around for this or is there another application I am not aware of that will virtually take control of the phone but still allow dial out??
