My messages is just not working on Mac Book pro. The accounts are enabled but it keeps saying sign in but no password is working

This keeps coming up and I've tried my apple ID password and Gmail password but neither seem to work and there isn't a 'forgot password' option incase im getting it wrong. How do I get it to work again!?

Mail Menu->Accounts (not Mailmenu-Preferences-Accounts): set the password there.
