What is the best way to update Safari - I currently have Safari 6
What is the best way of updating Safari? I currently have Safari 6 on my Mac. I thought it would automatically update but it hasn't.
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You have to update OS X since it bundles with it.
With your profile (OS X 10.4.8) I am not sure if you can.
If you have or has OSX 10.4.8 and y ohave the Mac Pro silver desktop then you have the first, the.2006 Mac Pro.
Without a hack they can go to Lion (10.5)
First yo need to update to Snow Leopard by purchasing a DVD

The fully update to 10.6.8.
Note that you will sill not have the latest version of Safari. You can use Google Chrome or FireFox browsers since those are fully updated.
To get Lion you have to order a download code to download Lion

Note that some app may not work
If you have Safari 6 on your Mac you are not running Tiger 10.4.8.
What OS are you using? Your profile shows 10.4.8. Click on your avatar at the top left of the page where sign out is. When the window opens, double click it, and edit My Products. Helps those who are trying to help you.
I have OS X version 10.7.5
Thanks
To get the latest version of Safari, you need to be running 10.10.5.
However, it appears, based on the Safari WIKI, that Safari for Mountain Lion and later are still being updated by Apple.
Thus, it appears that Safari, although different version numbers, are equivalent to Safari for Yosememite
