Aug 28, 2015 2:12 PM in response to Farkrocksby Farkrocks,I was able to do this (manually upload photos into PhotoStream) easily in iPhoto '11 (version 9.2 (626). I just tried it again on my wife's Macbook Air (thankfully haven't "upgraded" her yet to Yosemite). My PhotoStream also appears to be having issues refreshing photos from other devices. Took photos today on my iPhone and they made it to my wife's iPhoto 11 on her Air but not my Photo on my Pro.

Aug 28, 2015 2:20 PM in response to Farkrocksby Old Toad,I don't believe there is a way to manually add photos to the My Photo Stream like we could with iPhoto. Now with Yosemite and Photos it's a one way street from mobile devices to the library.
It's been replaced with the iCloud Photo Library which syncs all photos between all devices.

Aug 29, 2015 2:11 AM in response to Old Toadby Farkrocks,So I need to pay a subscription (pretty high given my photo library size) in order to get the feature that was included before i upgraded? Sounds like a "downgrade" to me. Giveth with one hand...My family owns 3 Apple laptops, 2 iPhones 5 iPads and one iPod - so much for brand loyalty and the benefits that "integration" brings. Over reliance seems to be my biggest risk right now.
Is that the answer or am I missing anything?
Photo is also glitchy, yesterday's syncing problem was resolved with a reboot but it's not the first time it's happened.

Aug 29, 2015 8:29 AM in response to Farkrocksby Old Toad,There is the Family Sharing possibility. With it members can all contribute to a Family Photo Album. The following is from this Apple document: Family Sharing - Apple Support:
The whole family can contribute to the family photo album.
Now collecting and sharing family memories is easier and more fun. When Family Sharing is turned on, a shared album is set up automatically in the Photos app on all family members’ devices. Then everyone can add photos, videos, and comments to the album and be notified when something new is added. You can add or view photos and videos from iPhoto on your Mac, and from Photos on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 7 or later.
This document is also about the Family Sharing: Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support
Even without the Family Sharing Plan a shared album can be setup for just your selected family members and all can contribute to it.
