Yes, digital photo filetypes are consistent between computer platforms. However, your flash drive must be formatted so a PC can read it. By default most flash drives are formatted so that any computer can use them but if you reformatted it for Mac use you may have chosen the HFS+ Journalled format which isn’t PC compatible. I use exFAT or FAT for flash drives I’ll be sharing between Macs, PCs, and Linux computers.

Thanks, I didn't have to format the flash drive it stored the photos successfully From the Mac. I was told that most flash drives are formatted to windows at the factory, but it worked fine on mine, hopfully it will transfer. Thanks again. To
No constraints. The sticks are formatted to be readable by Windows and Mac.
Lex, that's very helpful, thanks.

and writeable of course...😀
Mostly but I have seen some reformatted NTFS which, of course aren’t writeable for Mac users.

You mean, most usually come formatted and can be read by Macs & Windows computers.
I have never seen those, special delivery or Windows software already on it?
He should have noticed writing the photos to it...😁
Yea Chris, the ones that you buy in a shop.... for general purpose.....
Which is why I mentioned the caveat of if he had formatted it.
I’ve seen them at a couple stores but I don’t recall ever seeing them online. Don’t think there was any software on them.
Not to draw this out but my point is they are simply formatted, either FAT32 or NTFS, because that's what PCs use.

The sticks are formatted to be readable by Windows.
The fact they can be read by Macs has (almost always) nothing to do with the stick manufacturer. It's that Apple has made the OS to read Windows formatting.
