Notes Keep Disappearing/Being Deleted From Notes App

Have a recently purchased the iPhone 6 and I had good luck on transferring all my data and information over to my new phone from my iTunes which is stored on a Macbook Pro. However, all of my notes that I have kept stored on my iPhone and on my iCloud have been disappearing and I can't figure out why. It is becoming very frustrating because I kept a lot of my data and important thoughts on the Notes App. I'm at the point where I am going to quit using this app if I can't trust it to keep my stuff.

I have read recent discussions about this issue being linked to email accounts, however, I do not have my Notes App linked to any email provider. The default account for my Notes App is iCloud. I would really appreciate anyone's opinion on how I can find or recover my notes.
