iPod 4th generation won't hold a charge

I have an iPod fourth-generation that when I completely charge it to 100% and I take it off the charger with in eight minutes it is completely dead and shuts off what do I need to do to get this iPod to hold a charge and actually work the ipod when it does work is completely fine

Sounds like the battery is worn out. If that is the case

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one with a new battery for $79. They do not fix yours.

A third-party place like the following will replace you battery for less. Google for more.

Replace the battery yourself if you are up to it. A replacement battery cost less than $15
