Twitter text Notifcations on iPhone

Having a recurring issue where Twitter notifications are not being received as TEXT messages on my iPhone. I'm using an iPhone 5S with ios 8.4.1

I have set up a CONTACT for Twitter, with the number 40-404, and when I normally get a text message whenever I get a tweet from someone that I have set up "mobile notifications" for in Twitter.

Lately it hasn't been working, as no notifications are coming in as text messages. (I prefer this to using the iphone notification system)

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Not sure I would assume the issue is with your phone. could be with Twitter, particularly if you are not missing other SMS text.

Good point, thanks. I am getting other sms messages. I've also turned on the Twitter notifcations via ios, and those are showing up as well. (I normally don't use those) Heck, I can't even find an article explaining how to set up Twiiter as a contact in iOs, which is what I did years ago.
