My Applications folder has a subfolder named Applications and another subfolder named Applications 2. All seem to have the same set of applications. Can I get rid of the apparently redundant folders??

You can get rid of anything there which has a curly arrow on the bottom left corner of its icon, as well as any empty folders. Otherwise, move the items to the desktop and see if the applications keep working first.

Thanks. It looks like they are superfluous except for taking up a lot of memory space. I'm curious as to how they were created and why?/
