trying to access my 4s can't remember password

So, I dropped my 2yo 4s & broke the screen. "no prob" i thought, I'll just get the screen from my old 4 & install on my 2 year old. problem is I cant remember the passcode to unlock it & now its disabled and says to "connect to itunes" How do I do that? and can I access or change my passcode going that route?
