logic x pro BIG, strange problem.

Hello,

i have been recordin my guitars with Logic X Pro and then strange thing happened.

Every settings are ok, input here, input there 😉 when i plug in my bass guitar, i can hear it and record it, same was with ny electric guitar but now when i plug in electric guitar all i can hear is noise and no sound from guitar at all and cant record anything. On the same cable when i plug bass guitar it works.

Both guitars were workin fine, but now for no reason electric guitar is not working. What could happen ? settings are ok, restarts of app and even whole system didnt help.

A plug in that guitar works normally without Mac.

Logic Pro X, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Sounds like your Guitar pickup may have an issue.... Have you tried just plugging it into an Amp and see?

If bass works fine, and guitar doesn't, on the same track, look for something external to LPX.

Which Audio interface are you using?

Does it have a Mixer app?(or visual meters?) if so do you see a signal ?

Headphones into the Audio interface? Hear it then?

If you also have GB.. test it in that

All the above should/might help eliminate LPX from the equation...

Same with GB, sounds is set as input, as it was before, bass guitar works, when i plug same cable to electric guitar its just a noise and no sound of guitar (guitar on amp works fine on the same cable).

Dunno what happened and i guess i have to fight with it somehow 😉

Any chance your Bass has active pickups and your guitar passive? If your interface input is not switched to Hi-impedance (Hi-Z) then you wouldn't get any signal from your guitar. In any case, you should answer Art of Sound's questions to get further assistance.

i have plugged another electric guitar and its ok, so we can close this, other guitar still not working 😉 i am not using any mixer, simply plugged it to a iMac.

If the guitar works with a normal amp then it should work with your audio interface though you didn't actually say what interface you have been using..... but then as you said another guitar works fine.. it has to be the first guitar in question...

audio interface = small Jack, if this is the good answer bout interface 😉

and bass guitar works fine on it, 2nd electric guitar works fine, and mine 1st electric guitar that used to work good, is not 😉 even if with amp works ok.
