Q: Stop looping slideshow with Keynote remote?

Hi all,

Not a regular Keynote user so let me describe what I'm trying to do and hopefully someone can tell me whether or not it's possible with my devices.

I'm setting up a slideshow for a charity event. The projector is mounted from the ceiling, so rather than run a long HDMI cable to a laptop somewhere I thought I would put my iPad up there next to the projector and then control Keynote iOS with my iPhone. When I tested it last night, I was able to connect the devices and run the slideshow. However:

  1. If the Presentation Type is set to "Normal" then it just sits on the first slide and waits for me to advance it with the remote; I would rather it just play and loop on it's own (kiosk mode).
  2. If the Presentation Type is set to "Self-Playing" and it starts going then I can't log in with my iPhone to stop it; there was an error message about not being able to interrupt a slideshow in progress.

Is there any way to make my setup work, or is there something else I should try?  (Short of trooping up the ladder to stop/start the show!)

TIA,

JVK
