Macbook Pro disk drive makes startup noise when just waking from sleep

For a while now my Macbook Pro 13in Mid 2012 disk drive has been making the noise it makes when the computer starts up, but it does it when the computer wakes from sleep now. When I would wake my computer, the disk drive would make the noise, then it would take about a minute to be able to even type in my password. This was with an HDD.

I recently switched to a SSD. I don't experience the one minute lag of being able to type in my password, but when I wake my computer up the disk drive still makes the noise it makes when my computer boots up.
