Sep 2, 2015 7:09 PM in response to Loner Tby jessdancer,I'm currently restoring from OS X recovery via external HD. It's now saying it's going to take "3 hours and 6 minutes to transfer to information from my internal HD to my Mac"... Is this normal?? And if so (hopefully!!) what's my next step?

Sep 2, 2015 7:24 PM in response to Loner Tby jessdancer,It says this exactly:
"Transferring Your Information
Information from "*** Jones's iMac" is being transferred to this Mac.
Transferring documents for the user *** Jones...
About hours and 4 minutes remaining"
I wish I could figure out how to screen shot you a photo. I'm currently messaging you from my husbands PC while my Mac is rebooting/installing/restoring...
What should I do?

Sep 2, 2015 8:33 PM in response to jessdancerby Loner T,We just need to ensure the destination disk has enough space to handle the restore. The Grey disks would have made it much quicker.
The speed of restore is dependent on the connection of the external disk to the Mac. USB2/FW400 are slower and comparable. USB3/FW800 would be quicker/better. If you had a second Mac, it would have been the best solution.

Let your spouse have the PC back. When my spouse commandeers my Mac, I get a bit possessive.
