my wife and I want to exchange iphone users ? I have an iphone 6 and she has an iphone 5 . I want the iphone 5 and she wants the iphone 6. is it a matter of changing the simm cards or is it more difficult than that?

Unless you are using the same Apple ID it should be ok.
If you have separate Apple ID's, there in lies a problem.
If you sign in to her iPhone 5 using your Apple ID, all the data associated with her Apple ID will be deleted and vice versa.
