iPad won't sync iCloud calendar but iPhone does

Hello, sorry for this FAQ. My iMac ICloud calendar syncs fine to my iPhone, but not my iPad.

iPad Settings>iCloud shows my correct account and storage, ICloud drive is on, and beneath that, Calendars are on.

Mail,Contacts,Calendars>al items are set same as the iPhone, except the last "Default Calendar" item is missing on iPad. I assume this might be the problem-? How do I get that to show up?

Also I searched similar threads a few years old. They mention instructions: "Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account.." I don't find 'Delete Account' either.

ipad & iPhone are both version 8.4.1. iMac is 10.9.5.
