How can Microsoft silverlight Plugin work on Mac Book Pro?
The Microphone part is working not the Web Cam.
I need the Web Cam to work with the Silverlight app.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
Without some actual information, there's nothing we can troubleshoot.
Silverlight was deprecated by Microsoft 3 years ago. There is no further development being done on it. Perhaps you should look into an application that's not 'dead' that might meet your needs instead.
Seeing as how it is their product, what did Microsoft have to say when you asked them?
Well, I need to use it for school. It is called Lynch, where we attend classes online. This silverlight is needed for that. I can see the teacher, but the teacher can't see me. that's the problem. The IT people at school don't want to deal with Mac. & Apple tech don't know how to make it work.
Microsoft said since it's a Mac, they wouldn't know how to make it work. When I called Apple tech, they told me to call Microsoft since it's a 3rd party app.
If you can't find another app to work for you then you will have to install Windows on your Mac to get Silverlight to run.

Do you mean Lync? Lync is part of Office 2011 for Mac.
YYes Lync. they did set up office 2011 for Mac for me on my Mac. And I was told to use Firefox for Lync.
Sounds like you need to contact your school IT helpdesk for assistance.
aAlready did, that's why I'm here asking fellow Mac owners..
When it it comes to school, Mac owners are on they're own! Other computers they help, not Mac.
OH well..
I use Silverlight every day on multiple Macs. I can tell you that 99% of the problems I encounter are because the developers have coded specifically with Windows in mind. Add to that the fact that Silverlight has been abandoned by Microsoft, and it doesn't add up to a pleasant experience.
You may not have much choice but to install Windows in Boot Camp or a Virtual Machine and use Silverlight in Windows to do what you need.
Alright, thax for your info. IT desk at school told me to get a web cam, which I did and it works so I'm good I would've loved to use this built in web cam but that's alright. I will be done with school next yr and I won't need the web cam so I got a cheap web cam that works ok for school.
