how do I re start my ipad it has the iTunes logo and the cable on screen my computer refuses to recognise the ipad alathough it has been used on it before don't know what the matter is with help

If so, it's in recovery mode and needs to be connected to a computer running iTunes to be restored. Instructions below

You say your computer "refuses to recognise the iPad'. What computer do you have and are you running the latest version of iTunes?

Turn ipad Off
Connect lead to USB on your PC .
Press & hold power button on iPad Don't let go
Connect lead to iPad keep power button pressed down
Until PC sees ipad wait for restore .
You may need to do this a few times before it works.
