how do i download my contacts from yahoo onto safari, i have downloaded as CSV, card single and card VCF files, but nothing

Actually they aren't downloaded to Safari but instead the Mac Contacts app located in your Applications folder.
Then from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the AutoFill tab.
Make sure: Using info from my Contacts card is selected.
