My ipad is associated with an email that no longer exists and I cannot remember the password. How do I change the email associated with icloud?

Every time I start up my ipad I am prompted to enter a password for icloud. I cannot remember the correct password, and the email associated with that account no longer works, so I cannot ask request that the password be sent through email.


Do I have to call in or is there a way to associate icloud with a new Apple ID?


I have attempted to reset everything to no avail.

You have run across the activation lock.


You need to take the ipad to an apple store. You need to bring proof of ownership with you. Your purchase receipt should do.
