Can I use Apple Pay with Touch ID disabled?

So I've noticed in the Touch ID and Passcode settings that there's a switch that says "Use Touch ID for Apple Pay." I prefer not to use Touch ID, but would like to use Apple Pay. When I go to the store and use Apple Pay, will it just prompt me for my passcode, or will it not work entirely?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4.1

Hi Micah

The User Guide indicates that, if you choose not to use Touch ID, you will need to authenticate with your passcode instead.

- "Or you can start by holding iPhone near a reader until the screen asks you to authenticate with Touch ID or your passcode."
