Thanks for your advice about iCloud account and reinstalling the OS X! Does it affect other applications installed in the computer? If so, I cannot do it as my daughter needs to use those application programs.
Yes -- The "Reformat your hard drive" part of step 5 completely wipes everything from your Mac. Applications included with the OS would be reinstalled with the OS and then you would need to reinstall any other applications after that.

Thanks! As far as I remember, I upgraded the original OS x10.6 Snow Leopard to a latest OS. When I reinstall the OS, which OS will be reinstalled, original or the latest one?
With recent versions of OS X I believe that you are able to reinstall the version that you currently have installed -- but I am not positive of that, especially if you started with Snow Leopard.
