canceled family sharing, now i can't open an app that was given to me years ago because it says that it is no longer shared with me. How do i fix this?

Purchase or download the app from the App Store using your Apple ID.
Please explain what you mean by 'given to me'. Did a friend/family member download it onto your device from their account? Or did you redeem it with a gift voucher etc. If the app is free, you can re-download obviously. But if it's a paid app, I'm interested as to where it was originally bought.
I received the ipad as a gift for christmas and one of my daughters bought the app with her apple ID and sent it to me as a gift through the apple app store.
