Use a virtual machine app like the paid Paralles or free VirtualBox to run windows on top of OSX

started with than Bootcamp. The added advantage of the virtual machine approach,
is that Windows will run side by side with OS X.
As stated, since you machine is running Yosemite, you not likely be able to run XP in via
Bootcamp and you will need Windows7 or later.
