Can't add music to itunes 12.2.2.25

Why am I no longer able to add music to my itunes? Running windows 10 and I can no longer drag and drop folders of music and singular files to add them to my itunes library.

Even if I double click the files they will not open itunes and play them unless I already have itunes open, and play them from within. And yes, Itunes is the default media player.

Someone please help 😟
