Q: My iphone 4s is receiving a message stating that I should call 1 844 591 5982,m

My iphone 4s is receiving a message stating that I should call 1 844 591 5982, so I called and at first I was feeling kinda sketchy about calling but I was not allowed to access my safari. Anyhow I call and there was silence at first so I'm thinking that maybe my connection was acting up, however an Indian man started talking and  after I want to say a minute in a half of silence, asking me what were the problems I was having. I Told him about the issue and he asked for my apple ID and put me on a brief hold at that moment I'm thinking to myself "should I just hang up?" But then I'm like Nahh I love my phone I need to have the problem diagnosed, anyhow he comes back and he tells me that a virus was on my phone and that I needed to tend to it immediately so he placed me on. Hold again and after he came back and asked me to go to settings and what not, this is when I was starting to feel like hey maybe this is real and not a scam so I did he prompted but could barely understand him, to make a long story short whatever he was asking me did I see in settings I didn't see so he tells me that the virus has completely spread through my safari and I need to take care of it immediately, and that with an $80 fee he can fix the problem.. so I'm like hold on now, I don't have $80  so he asked what city I was in an zip to check any "PROMOTIONS" ( you would think I'd hang up, but nooo like a fool I gave him that info) and he tells me that there's an offer in my city to where I can have $20 Took off resulting I a $60 fee -_- and he asked if I was going to use my visa or master card I automatically responded with "Uh excuse me? I don't have that either, maybe I'll just go to a store and have it looked at." He tells me "Ooh well, I'm not go in to lie to you it's going to cost you more at our store maybe like $150 and this would be a cheaper way." Me " -_- well hey there's nothing I can do, I don't have it." He says he can't help me and I hang up, I searched online and found out that someone faces that same incident and warned others, at this point I'm frustrated because I'm thinking to myself "You basically just entertained a scam, making yourself a fool, and on top of that you still can't access your safari." Please if someone can give me pointers on how to get my safari back and running I really would appreciate it, like is there anyway to get the pop up message to cease? Ps I apologize for the long story I really wanted to get almost everything in so that any e who has more brains than me would visit "APPLE.COM" first before following that message, and read what I experienced.

In addition to the link Niel provided in the previous post, think back to your phone conversation with the scammer. You said you gave him your Apple ID. Did you also provide the password to your Apple ID? Actually, whether you did or not, I suggest changing your Apple ID password.

You have been the victim of a phishing attack but do not worry. Since you did not give him money or more importantly your Apple ID (I hope, you were not fully clear) or Credit Card numbers you have nothing to worry about. Here is how to get your Safari back:

Close Safari completely from the multitasking window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Safari preview pane up until it disappears from the screen. You may have to look for the Safari pane by swiping side to side as there may be other panes there from other apps. Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it comes up. You will not lose anything.

    Best,
