increase link speed with SSD upgrade

mid-2010 Macbook pro shows negotiated link speed of 1.5 on a 3 GB SATA; considering macbook pros shows 1.5 as the negotiated speed, what is the recommended SSD link speed? 3GB or 6GB?

What SSD did you install?

Does it have the latest firmware? Go to the manufacture's site and check and update as necessary.

The SATA bus on your Mac is SATA II (3 Gbit/sec)

I had same problem on my 2009 Mac Mini. Reaseating the connectors seemed to be what brought it back to 3 Gbit/sec

This is the Mac Pro desktop forum. I requested your post be moved to the MacBook Pro laptop forum.
