WA when using apps requiring GPS they all seem to struggle to work! Apple maps will find my location but then keeps saying 'locating' and takes 15-20seconds to find me! Then just happens again. Waze keeps saying no gps signal. Location services are on. I have turn them on/off, restored phone and set as new, reset network services and location services, hard reset, checked all software is upto date. Any ideas out there?

Depending on the vehicle involved, the roof can be a problem. When this happens, pull over to the side of the road and place the iphone on the dashboard. If the device is located, you've determined the problem.
Make sure WiFi is on.

How is that related to receipt of gps signals?
The iPhone uses the location of known WiFi networks to supplement GPS.

Aaah, yes. Forgot that. Doesn't it also use the cell towers to supplement the gps?
Yes, cell towers also, but that doesn't provide detailed location information. Primarily it shortens the satellite acquisition time.

Dang. I also knew that. It's called "Enhanced gps." I don't know where my mind is today.
MY wife also has an iPhone and we have to use her phone when driving anywhere now, I just don't understand why it's so slow in responding to my location. I have notice my wife's phone seems to have stronger signal than me. We are both on the same network but she has the 6 and I have the 5c.

I'll ask again: is WiFi enabled on your phone?
Also Bluetooth. There's a statement in the Settings > Bluetooth menu that appears when the setting is toggled: " Location accuracy and nearby services are improved when Bluetooth is turned on."

Sounds like you need help from Apple. Hopefully there's an Apple Store within reasonable distance. Otherwise, 800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.
If you take it to a store, there is no charge. Make an appointment with the resident "Genius" before you go. If you call, you will likely be charged.
