does the restrore iPad button in the top box restore and wipe out everything or just restore buttons, and settings

I have an iPad 2 with version 8.4.1, my problem is my power off button and volume button are not working, plugging it into my computer and then using the iTunes apps that starts up automatically. Inside the Summary section in the top box, that has the capacity in it, with the S/N, and iOS 8.4.1, it has two buttons in it, you can click the check for update box or restore iPad, If I click that reset the iPad box, will it reset my iPad without deleing anything else?
