Has anyone else encountered this? I looked at my App Store and it's not available.

Do you mean the music app or the iTunes store?
It's not possible to delete either one. If you can't find the iTunes store, check Settings>General>Restrictions. It's possible to hide it with restrictions.
iTunes app was deleted from my iPhone 6.
