Is java safe to use yet?
I know Apple disabled Java in 2013 on their devices. But it is 2015 now so is it safe to install Java yet? Please help. I have sites that require Java to be installed before I can proceed.
iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), iOS 8.4.1

Firstly, you don't need Java unless you are a programmer, have Java applications to run, or access Java applets on the Web. Needless to say, the current JRE for OS X is safe.

Apple blocks Java on Mac OS when its determined unsafe. Just say up to date and you are fine. Java updates available for OS X on July 15, 2015 - Apple Support
