Trying to add a photo to any app (Messages, Mail, Pixelmator...etc) crashes all of them. iPad 3. iOS 8.4.1. Problem started about a week ago and did not coincide with anything I can think of, including iOS updates.

If you are having issues with your iPad's applications becoming unresponsive when you try to use a photograph in an app, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
