How to unlock read-only files transferred from Bootcamp?

I have Windows 7 installed via bootcamp on my Macbook retina. Occasionally while logged into OSX, I transfer files from the bootcamp partition to my OSX via finder, using a third party NTFS driver. However, I cannot edit any of the files I transfer over. When I right click --> Info --> attempt to change permissions, I receive an error message saying that I do not have the necessary privileges. Is there any way to unlock these files from the OSX side? Thank you.
