Hello,
I have a 64g iPhone 6 And according to the phone in its settings, I have about 15gs of storage left. I know I have a lot of music on it, atleast 21g worth of music on it and a few apps, messages and pictures but not enough to take up 20gs of storage. But when I plug it into iTunes to backup and sync, iTunes says i have 30gs of free space. Is there something wrong with my iPhone or iTunes, or is there something that went over my head?

Check out Settings > General > Usage
There will be two "Manage Storage". The first one will show you what's on your iPhone. The second one is for your iCloud Storage.
Hope this helps you investigate further. (Protip: Whatever you see on the iPhone trumps whatever iTunes shows).
