iPhoneThere are no hidden features within iTunes that delete your music. Is the music still in the iTunes Media folder on your computer? If not, then its not iTunes that is your problem. A virus or even your antivirus program messing with stuff (Read this AVG Issue: https://forums.avg.com/us-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=227321) If your music files are intact, but the music is simply being removed from the iTunes library itself when you open iTunes, try creating a new library (Open a different iTunes Library file or create a new one - Apple Support) or even reinstall iTunes (http://itunes.com). Good Luck!

I never had this problem of my playlists being deleted from itunes until I updated to the new version. I went to different websites for solutions including the recommendation of using the file iTunes Library.itl but I couldn't update it to my itunes. Since then I've deleted the new version and reinstalled the old version 8.1 but now it won't recognize my ipod. When I went to the help forum it said to make sure I have the latest itunes version. I definitely don't want the new itunes. Not only for the constant problems I've had but for the many options and features I liked that now have been taken away from me on the newer versions. I've spent 10 hours so far trying to fix this. I hope you can help me. Thank you.
