Recently I redeemed gift card to my account and make purchase. I'm asked to enter security question because it's my first time purchase. I don't remember it and try to reset security question but there was no link to reset. Then I tried multiple time and my apple id is locked. I can still sign in to my itunes account but can't make any purchase. So How can i unlock my apple id and reset security question. Thanks.
If you do not have a Recovery email set up on your Apple Account, you will not see that link to reset you security questions, so that is normal. your only option at this point is to contact Apple to get them to reset your questions. Step 1 - Click this link: Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support
Step 2 - Locate your country
Step 3 - Call the number listed or click the "Get support now" link
If you chose the link or that was the only option:
Step 4 - Click iTunes Store
Step 5 - Click "Forgot Security Questions"
Step 6 - Click No Thanks if prompted.
Step 7 - Choose an option for a call.
Will it be automatically unlocked if i wait 8 hours or will not unlock until apple support try to unlock my account?
In 8 hours you can try to answer the questions again, but that is it. They won't reset until you call them. And if you are still in the lock out period, they can;t even do anything. you will need to contact them after the 8 hours have passed.
How can i setup recovery email option? I see temporary support pin and can i use it to bypass security question to make in app purchase after 8 hours of lock out period. Thanks
You will be able to set a rescue email address once they reset them for you. The rescue email is on the same page where you make new answers... the page you can;t get to đ The temporary support pin is used when you call. They will make you generate one to prove who you are. That's all that is used for.
Thanks and one last question. Is security question case sensitive?
I don't believe so for most sites, but I haven't personally tested Apple's. To be on the safe side I would try and remember that as well when you make new ones.
