Ipad Air 2 screen goes black when not using the device

Hello,

I have an Ipad Air 2. When I am not using the device, its screen goes totally black. When I click on the screen or the keyboard, the home screen or the lock screen comes up again. I like to use my Ipad as a clock and to be able to view the time when I look at the iPad. Does anyone know how I can get the time to display all the time on the iPad?

iPad 2, iOS 8.1.2

The screen is off or on. To make it stay on longer you can go into the settings, general, autolock and turn that to never.

But your device will burn through its battery quicker with the screen always on.

You could look and see if there are any clock apps that have the screen always on but I don't have any to recommend (and I'm not even sure if such a thing exists)
