i updated my mac to os x yosemite, and cant seem to open iphoto (therefore being unable to access my pictures). I get a message that tells me to update it but when i go to the app store it says that the application cannot be found. what should i do?

I have updated my mac to os x yosemite 10.10.3, and alhtough i now have photos, I cant access iphotos. Whenever I try to run the application, i get a message telling me to update it, but when i go to the app store, it says that the application cant be found... what should I do?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
