My magic mouse cannot pair with my brand new apple laptop

I have a new apple laptop and have been using a small bluetooth keyboard and a magic mouse (Bluetooth) with it for three months. For some reason the mouse cannot be found by the laptop. what happened? Batteries are new, mouse is blinking green light.
