(Mini)DisplayPort data transfer

Can the mini displayport carry data? I would like to conect my keyboard and mouse to my monitor, and I'm wondering if it's possible without an extra cable.


Extra: Can the DisplayPort carry computer files? Can the DisplayPort carry malware?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

No. It can only be used for video and audio signals.
