Cannot "see" the iCloud device

I cannot access/see the iCloud device on my macbook pro or my iMac. Should it appear as a pseudo device? If so, where?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

What iCloud device are you referring to? There's other iCloud Photo Library, the iCloud Drive and the iCloud.com website for you email, contacts, etc. that are synced between all your devices.


The only of those that show up on a Mac is the iCloud Drive which will show up in the sidebar of any Finder window:

The iCloud Photo Library is just a duplication online of your Photos library on your Mac and will be since between all of you devices that are signed in to the same Apple ID and have the iCPL enabled.


iCloud is more a service provided by Apple for a number of things. These Apple documents will help explain them:
