Songs in Library are not in iTunes folder

I have several thousand more songs in my Library than I do in iTunes folder. It appears not just songs but entire albums are not in iTunes folder. The properties for iTunes folder lists about 2,500 files less than the number of songs in the Library. I want to make sure I am backing up everything. iTunes match is on. Using Windows 7. Thank you.

Use the Organize Library function in the Library section of the File menu, and then back up the iTunes folder. Alternatively, back up the entire internal drive.
